But while we are still mourning, the one-sided media coverage prevents us from seeing what the whole world sees: this war has already claimed the lives of more than 15,000 people in Gaza, including 6,000 children and 4,000 women. Thousands of children are buried under the rubble and there is no way to rescue them, while many of the wounded are denied medical treatment due to the destruction of infrastructure. The State of Israel has the right and the duty to protect us, Israeli civilians. The war on Hamas is a necessity, in order to prevent an event like October 7th repeating itself, and restore security to the residents of the south, the north, and all of Israel. The number of innocent casualties in Gaza is unprecedented in its magnitude and undermines these goals. According to "Local Call" news website (+972 in the English version), the rules of engagement in the current war are dramatically different than in previous rounds, and effectively allow for the killing of civilians as "collateral damage" in unimaginable numbers, often impacting hundreds of civilians each raid. The army focuses on "power targets" - buildings with symbolic significance and structures that are not necessarily military objectives, such as public buildings and residential towers, as well as private homes used by families. We must demand that they take responsibility and show the public that they are more than a fig leaf, and that they did not join the government only to continue Netanyahu's rule. The occupation, the siege, the wars, the terrorism, the oppression, the racism and the violence, the violation of democracy and human rights - all these brought the two peoples who live between the sea and the Jordan River to an unimaginable disaster, which has no measure. Precisely in these terrible days, the simple truth is clearer than ever: the freedom, security and life of all living in this land depend on each other. In memory of the murdered and for the sake of the living, we must act together - Jews and Arabs - for the release of the kidnapped and captives, for the end of the war, for the end of the occupation and the conflict, for peace. We, who believe in the way of democracy and peace, call to: 1. Strive for a stable ceasefire, within which negotiations for a political agreement will be started immediately based on mutual recognition of the right of the two peoples to self-determination - an agreement that will guarantee security, freedom and well-being for both peoples. 2. Immediately promote a broad prisoner deal ("all for all"). 3. Immediately stop harming innocent civilians. There isn’t and cannot be any justification for harming the innocent. 4. Act immediately to curb the rampant settler violence in the West Bank with the backing of the army, and to curb the transfer that this violence is trying to promote. 5. Stop the persecution and oppression of Palestinian Citizens of Israel and of those who express solidarity with the residents of Gaza and oppose the war. Stop the violation of basic rights, including freedom of expression, freedom of demonstration, and more. We have all experienced the rounds of violence. Timen and time again it is evident that there is no military solution to this conflict, nor can there ever be one. The only way to stop the bloodshed is a political agreement that will guarantee security, justice and freedom for both nations. There are no winners in war. Only peace will bring security. אנו - תנועות, ארגונים ופעילים, יהודים וערבים - כותבים מילים אלו מתוך אבל כבד על אלפי ההרוגים של השבועות האחרונים, ומתוך חרדה איומה לשלומם של החטופים ושל אלו שעוד יפגעו, בישראל, בעזה ובגדה המערבית. הטבח האכזרי שביצע חמאס ב-7.10 השאיר את כולנו - יהודים וערבים - המומים ומזועזעים. בשבועות שחלפו מאז אותה שבת ארורה, לזוועות שביצע חמאס נוספו זוועות נוספות: אלפים רבים נהרגו, ועדיין נהרגים, מההפצצות הישראליות בעזה, שרבים מתושביה אף נותקו ממים וחשמל. אין ספור חפים מפשע, ילדים, נשים וקשישים איבדו את חייהם בשני הצדדים; מאות אלפים איבדו את בתיהם ואת עולמם - פגיעה בחפים מפשע בצד אחד לא מאזנת את הכאב על ההרג בצד השני, אלא רק מוסיפה כאב נוסף על הכאב העצום. הכיבוש, המצור, המלחמות, הטרור, הדיכוי, הגזענות והאלימות, הפגיעה בדמוקרטיה ובזכויות האדם - כל אלו הביאו את שני העמים שחיים בין הים לירדן לאסון בלתי נתפס, שאין לו שיעור. דווקא בימים האיומים האלה האמת הפשוטה ברורה יותר מאי פעם: החירות, הביטחון והחיים של כל יושבות ויושבי הארץ תלויים אלה באלה. לזכר הנרצחים ולמען החיים - עלינו לפעול יחד - יהודים וערבים - למען שחרור החטופים והשבויים, לסיום המלחמה, לסיום הכיבוש והסכסוך, למען שלום. אנחנו, המאמינים בדרך הדמוקרטיה והשלום, קוראים: 1- לחתור להפסקת אש יציבה, במסגרתה יותנע מיידית משא ומתן להסכם מדיני על בסיס הכרה הדדית בזכותם של שני העמים להגדרה עצמית - הסכם שיבטיח ביטחון, חירות ורווחה לשני העמים. 2- לקדם באופן מיידי עסקת שבויים רחבה (״כולם תמורת כולם״). 3- לחדול מיד מפגיעה באזרחים חפים מפשע. אין ולא יכולה להיות הצדקה לפגיעה בחפים מפשע. 4- לפעול מיידית לבלימת אלימות המתנחלים המשתוללת בגדה המערבית בגיבוי הצבא, ולבלימת הטרנספר שהאלימות הזו מנסה לקדם. 5- להפסיק את הרדיפות והדיכוי של פלסטינים אזרחי ישראל ושל מי שמביע סולידריות עם תושבי עזה והתנגדות למלחמה; להפסיק את הפגיעה בזכויות בסיסיות וביניהן חופש הביטוי, חופש ההפגנה ועוד. כולנו למודי סבבי אלימות. שוב ושוב אנו נוכחים שאין ולא יכול להיות פתרון צבאי לסכסוך. הדרך היחידה לעצור את שפיכות הדמים היא הסכם מדיני שיבטיח ביטחון, צדק וחירות לשני העמים. במלחמה אין מנצחים. רק שלום יביא ביטחון. על החתום: אימהות נגד אלימות | אקדמיה לשוויון | אשה לאשה | בדרך אל הסולחה | במקום - מתכננים למען זכויות תכנון | בנק"י | הורים נגד מעצרי ילדים | הפורום למאבק בהסתה | ועד היוזמה הדרוזית | זוכרות | זזים - קהילה פועלת | חד"ש | חוריה | יש גבול | לוחמים לשלום | מחסוםWatch | מכון הערבה ללימודי הסביבה | מסרבות | מסתכלים לכיבוש בעיניים | נוער נגד דיקטטורה | נשות המחר | נשים בשחור | עו"סים שלום | פורום דו קיום בנגב | פורום המשפחות השכולות הישראלי פלסטיני | פסיכואקטיב | פעילי.ות בקעת הירדן | פרופיל חדש | קול רבני לזכויות אדם | קע"מ - קבוצת עבודה מדינית | רעך כמוך | תורת צדק | תנד"י | איתך معك (מעכי) - משפטניות למען צדק חברתי | Hands of Peace | Jahalin Solidarity * עיקר המימון של חלק מהארגונים החתומים מקורו בישויות מדיניות זרות, כמפורסם באתר רשם העמותות
